- 1. How do I apply to become part of the EOPS program?

- 2. What services will I receive?
Academic, career, and personal counseling, book grants, access to the textbook lending library and EOPS scholarships, basic school supplies, priority registration, one-on-one tutoring, and participation in special events.
- 3. How do I remain in good standing in EOPS?
Maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average and complete 3 EOPS counseling appointments each semester.
- 4. What happens if I am not in good standing in EOPS?
You will automatically go on Provisional Status the following semester. You must achieve a GPA of 2.0 or higher and complete 3 counseling appointments during your Provisional Status semester in order to return to good standing the program. If you fail to maintain eligibility during your Provisional Status semester, you may be required to submit an appeal. Failure to maintain eligibility can result in removal from the program. You must sit out for one full semester before reapplying to the EOPS program.
- 5. Does EOPS accept new students in the Fall, Spring and Summer?
EOPS only accepts new students in the Fall and Spring, not the Summer.
- 6. How many counseling appointments must I complete each semester?
You must complete a minimum of 3 counseling appointments with an EOPS counselor each semester. Students can complete one contact with an EOPS staff member for their second or third appointment.
- 7. Do I receive money for books?
As part of the EOPS program, you will receive a book grant. Grant amounts may vary from semester to semester.
- 8. Do I have to see an EOPS counselor?
To fulfill your 3 required counseling appointments for EOPS, you must see an EOPS counselor.
- 9. What is a Student Education Plan (SEP)?
A Student Education Plan (SEP) is your roadmap for outlining a suggested course of study on a semester-by-semester basis based upon your college major(s), degree objective, transfer plans, and sequence of courses.
- 10. What is priority registration?
Priority registration allows EOPS students in good academic standing who have completed the matriculation process, to enroll in classes a week before most other students on campus. Priority registration helps ensure that students get exactly the classes they want when they want them.
- 11. If I attended another community college, do I need to provide the EOPS program at College of Marin with transcripts from those colleges? Unofficial or Official?
You must notify EOPS if you have attended another college and provide unofficial transcripts before acceptance into the program. An official transcript is required prior to the end of the first semester in the program. Failure to disclose attendance at another institute of higher education will result in immediate and permanent disqualification from the EOPS program at College of Marin.

- 13. What happens when I earn 70 degree-applicable units?
